This photo was taken on day 1 at the Falls - January 12. Middle of summer in Southern Africa and the low season!
This is day 2 at the falls before we crossed the bridge to get closer. Each day the water volume increases significantly at peaks in April - May timeframe. The day before in this same location there was much greater visibility and you didn't need a raincoat to stand at the beginning of the bridge.
This is about the mid-point of our walk across the falls. The falls is 1.5 miles long and shared by Zambia and Zimbabwe. We only walked along the Zambian side.
This bridge connects Zambia to Zimbabwe. Tourists can cross at a border checkpoint here to continue walking along the falls in Zimbabwe.
Our hotel.
One of several Green Monkey visitors on our balcony which happened to be next to their favorite tree.
I almost stepped on this guy on our walk back from the falls to the hotel one afternoon. Turns out the Dung Beetle doesn't usually bite humans but he sure took on an attack stance just in case. It worked, I kept my distance!
We took a sunset cruise along the Zambezi river on the African Queen. The skies in the evening and at night are wonderful in Zambia. Looks like there are a million stars in the sky.
Taken from the cruise boat.
